Week 16

Little Sarah is growing, growing everyday. By now, her motor coordination is pretty good. Objects held in her hand go straight to her mouth and not her forehead. Put her on her tummy, and she can push her way to the end of the bed. Sarah managed a flip to her right this week.
Today, mummy and grandma brought her to the clinic for her monthly injection. As the needle went in, mummy waited in anticipation for the loud distinctive wail. To mummy's surprise, Sarah was totally oblivious to the prick and happily observing the new and strange environment. That's my tough gal:) She pretty much knows what she wants and she is sure to let mummy and daddy know that too. Sarah is still trying to outgrow that fussiness developed from the KL trip - apparently due to much wind in her tummy...hope she gets that settled before another life-changing experience - Sarah's 1st holiday to Perth with daddy, mummy and grandparents.

Week 15 - Sarah's First Flight

We were off to KL for the National Day Holidays as Daddy had a medical conference to attend. It was an adventure as it would just be Sarah, Daddy and Mummy.

On our flight there...Sarah was a very good girl. No crying during take off and landing. Well, as for the return trip, let's just say...the passengers had a good taste of Sarah's extremely powerful lungs. Boy, when she cried, she really cried.
We stayed at the new Traders Hotel. A very lovely and convenient hotel.
KL Convention Centre
The wonderful view of KLCC from our hotel window. We were located just a park away from KLCC. Daddy's medical conference venue is linked to our hotel.
A new bath tub just for Sarah. When we checked in on Wed night, we were told that the hotel did not provide a baby tub. But thankfully, the next morning, they told us that they just bought a baby bath tub and Sarah is the first baby to use it. Great hotel, great service. Well, Godpa Melvin doesn't think so as he had to put up with a leaking ceiling in his room.
Breakfast at the hotel was a very interesting experience. The spread was great...but it wasn't the food but the guests. Somehow, with Sarah 'bjorned' to us, many people, guests and waitress alike wanted to say hi and play with her. I was a little surprised when a lady from the middle eastern country came right beside me when I was enjoying my breakfast - squeezed Sarah's cheeks, stole a quick kiss and took a picture of Sarah with her handphone. It all happened so fast that mummy could not react. But that lady started off a string of kisses that Sarah had with other strangers. I think she got kissed 4 times during the trip by strangers - must be her irresistable chubby cheeks. But then again, we could always get special seats and even special discounts cos of Sarah.
Mummy and Sarah at our favourite breakfast seat.

Auntie Karen and Sarah.

Uncle Jonathan and Sarah

Daniel's colleagues and their wives. We were heading for dinner at Imbi.
Here we are - basking in the atmosphere of street stalls in KL.
Q: hmm....why was Sarah wearing her sunhat in the night?
A: Cos the hat was used to protect Sarah's hair and head from char kway teow flying from Daddy's mouth. Sunhat turned food catcher. haha...

Daddy, Mummy and Sarah at Bukit Bintang

Auntie Karen and Uncle Jonathan again

After dinner, it was time for Daddy's favourite dessert. I like this shot - so full of flavour!

Sarah: [thinking to herself] I sure hope Daddy doesn't drop the durian on my cute head.

A moment of contemplation as Daddy calculates if the durians were worth paying for.
Dinner again - huge prawn sung mee. yummy!
Lunch at Kenny Rogers on the final day.
Daddy, Godpa and Sarah at KL Airport.
Sarah lying on the bed.
Sarah sitting up.
It was an experience bringing Sarah along. She was a wonderful girl during the 1st 2 days, but without her cot, and in a strange environment, Sarah started to grow really restless. She did not go to the potty for 3 full days. Poor thing! Sigh...in truth, mummy, daddy and Sarah was glad to be back in Singapore. Home Sweet Home!

How Does Uncle David Love me? Let me count the ways...

Unlike Shu Shu Darrell, who always hug and kiss me and tell me he loves me, Uncle David shows his love in a different way:
1) Flicks water in my face
2) Tickles me and enjoys seeing my little body squirm
3) Pinches my cheeks and squeezes them at times
4) Produce a sudden explosion of sound so that I would jump

The conclusion of the matter: Uncle David must love me very much:)

Special Entry: Playmate or Punch Mate?

It was a special day for Sarah as she starts on a morning journey to find out if her cousin would be a playmate[girl] or her punchmate [boy]. The following is written from Sarah's point of view:)

Sarah: *Sucking fingers* "Mummy, where are we going so early in the morning?"

Sarah: [all decked out] "Mummy, mummy, where are we going?"
Sarah:"I know! I know! To see if my cousin is a boy or a girl! So exciting!"

Sarah: "Here's me and Auntie Chiao Chyi waiting for her turn"
Sarah: "That's Uncle David and Auntie Chiao Chyi. Uncle David looks so cool but I bet he must be excited."

Sarah: "Here's mummy and me. She must be the most wonderful lady I know:)"
Sarah: "Wow, so high tech. I think I can see my cousin's head and body? God's creation is indeed amazing!"

Sarah: "There's that nice friendly gynae explaining to Uncle David and Auntie Chiao Chyi that my little cousin is doing well and fine. Praise the Lord!"

Sarah: "I am sure you all must be wondering what the answer is to The MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION: Is it a boy or a girl? Well, you know, I really don't know cos I fell asleep the minute the scan started".
Dear readers, if you would like to know the answer, kindly donate generously to Sarah's Trust Fund or alternatively, you can get the answer for free from Auntie Chiao Chyi.

Week 14

We thank God for yet another week of keeping us all healthy! Here's Sarah, growing, growing everyday. Slowly, as Sarah falls into routine, with the occasional unexplainable fussiness once in a while, Daddy and Mummy's routine has also set in place. It has allowed Daddy and Mummy to accomplish other things, with the help of grandpas and grandmas. Here's what mummy has been up to.
Last Saturday: On location publicity shoot with cast of this year's cantata, "No Greater Love".
Last Sat: Godpa and Godma came over to give Sarah presents and play with her at *yawn* 11 pm.
Monday: Yummy Thai lunch with Jan and Darrell
Thurs: Visitors from UK [Leon, Eunice and little Joelle and Nathan]
Say hi to C.S.K - Cantonese Spouting Kids. It is really amusing to hear young kids speak in fluent Cantonese. A rarity!
Fri: Lunch date with ole fren and colleague Clarice. It's so nice to meet up after such a long while:)

Sat: Sarah all decked out for a special occasion. Hmmm....tune in to next entry!
