I am 7 months Old

Today is a significant day. A milestone in Sarah's development.

1st - Sarah can wave purposely to her family as they bid her farewell.
Grandma:" Sarah, wave bye bye to mommy"
Sarah: [opens and closes fist]
Grandma and mommy look at each other in bewilderment and disbelief.
Mommy:"Let's try again."
Grandma:" Sarah, bye bye"
Sarah: [opens and clenches fist]
Grandma and mommy look at each other in bewilderment and disbelief yet again
Mommy: "Let's try the 3rd time. Bye Bye Sarah!"
Sarah: [opens and clenches fist]
By now, grandma and mommy are beaming with pride and cheering in unison.

Sarah and Constipation

The start of Sarah's 6th month saw an enthusiastic mommy and even more enthusiastic grandparents feeding Sarah first foods, pureed fruits and the changing of milk formula. First it was rice cereal, then it was carrot, then it was follow up formula - all of which were the perfect combination for some very difficult bowel movement.
The 1st time Sarah tried to go to the potty, there were cries of pain and frustration. Poor thing. But strong Sarah managed to push her poo poo out. Ah gong and Ah ma were sure worried. Well, mommy went off to buy baby prune juice and baby food. Soon, with the introduction of banana, spinach, brocoli, pumpkin etc... Sarah is pooing well again, too well:)

A timely present by Auntie Shaz - mommy can't wait to try the recipes out during the school holidays:)

Picnic with Godpa and Godma

The family headed off the East Coast for a picnic with Godpa and Godma. It was camping intiation for Godpa and Godma ....haha. Minus Godpa calling Daddy crazy for bringing Sarah and everyone into the 'wild', Godpa and Godma's mud filled white shoes and stilettos...it was a pretty well spent afternoon. Rojak, curry puffs, hot tea and Godma's yummy homemade tiramisu topped it off.

Dinner with Ah Gong, Ah Ma, Dua Yi and Mommy at Traders Hotel when Daddy was away in US. Sarah was a little whiny at times cos she can't really sit still for long nowadays. She is absolutely curious about the world around her and she needs an extra pair of legs to bring her around her new found world.

Mummy, too tight. I can't breathe!

Squashed for the 102th time:)

Sarah squealing with delight as she bangs on the counter and befriends the waitresses, the waiters, the chef, some guests...

The Lord provides...

It has been a really nice Sunday and an interesting one.

We were told that there were some relatives from Perth coming to Singapore for a stopover and that they would be putting up at our place. So late Saturday, Dan and I started doing a little spring cleaning [about a couple of hours to be exact]. I had also made reservations at a restaurant for lunch on Sunday with Sarah's Godpa and Godma. It turned out that the relatives ended up staying at another cousin's house and Sarah's godparents had to rush off to attend to something. I thought to myself, "So now we have a really clean house and reservations for 4 at a restaurant near church but no visitors and 2 extra seats for lunch?" Hmmm...I was just thinking to myself and praying that the Lord would bring people so that we could have a wonderful time of fellowship in the Lord. We have always hoped that Sunday lunches would be deliberate and meaningful.

The Lord would have it that a couple who started Grace Dental Mission, Dr Jack and Jennifer Mitchell was in church that Sunday. The person who was to take them out for lunch had something to attend to and thus we took over to play host. So off we headed to our lunch venue, reservations just for 4:) Over lunch, Daniel and Dr Jack spoke about the dental mission and Mrs Mitchell was sharing with me about her experiences as a Christian mother and the training she gave to her children through bible stories, games and discipline. It was a blessing to my heart to learn as well as to see people whose life were dedicated to the Lord and to spreading Christ's message to a lost and dying world. Later that afternoon, they popped over to our 'clean house' to take a look at what a Singaporean flat looked like.

A lovely afternoon - and I can't help but see God's faithfulness and love for his servants who are out in the frontline. Perhaps, God made us clean our house and make the reservations at the restaurant just for them. Well, that could be my small mind trying to understand a Great God. But truly, the Lord provides.

Greetings Dr Mincy, Mrs Mincy & Lexie

What a wonderful surprise to read comments from US!

Dr Mincy & Mrs Mincy - Wish I could have been there with Sarah. Perhaps, in a year's time, I would pluck up enough courage and bring Sarah on the long haul flight:) Glad to hear that you are both doing well. Please come and visit us soon - we have a spare room in our house and you are always welcome [read the small print: to babysit Sarah]:))

Lexie - Wow, it has been a long long time and guess what, I definitely remember you and your team that summer. How have you been? What are you doing now? I could go on...drop me an email at teo.joann@gmail.com.

Daddy's Home

Finally, daddy is home. That makes 5 happy people! Sarah, Mommy, Daddy, Godpa and Godma. *Yawn* Sarah was the perfect alarm clock that morning - she woke up at [gasp] 4 am. Just in time for mommy to prepare and leave for the airport. We praise God for keeping us all safe and many experiences that Daddy had in the US.
